Takashi Miike's slow-baked psychosis is an awkward film, punctuated with glitched editing as a tongue-in-cheek low budget disguise. Demented in every sense, with murderers clinching their genitals in front of their gory aftermath, and multiple women brutally assaulted and punched. With that said, Singapore actress Alien Sun's presence and Boredom's psychedelic soundtrack feel widely overlooked.
